Glass from Photo Project

Here's the local village church in Moulton. The brief was to capture the essence of this image into a piece of stained glass as a present for a friend.



Using computer software, the essence of the image is captured and printed out as a template.







Each piece of glass is cut to fit the template and individually copper-foiled.








The pieces are then soldered together to make up the picture








Notice that not every bit of the image is captured. The idea is to create something that holds the spirit of the original photograph/object.






And here is the final result! St Stephen’s Church captured in glass.
